SAAUC Meetings
Two meetings are held each month. The main meetings are on the evening of the first Friday of the month (except January), commencing at 7 pm in the Unley Salvation Army Hall, Marion Street Unley. Visitors are most welcome.
These meetings alternate from month to month between one which provides a general presentation of interest to all members and one at which members separate into Special Interest Groups (SIGs).
SIGs include:
- Welcome to Macintosh: An introduction to the Mac and its software
- Mac OS X: Understanding and maintaining the operating system
- Graphics: Usually based on Photoshop Elements
- Communications: E-mail, Web browsing...
- Games: Fun and... on the Mac
- Troubleshooting: If your Mac needs attention, bring it along (but let us know first by e-mail to
)
Friday evening meetings normally follow this format:
- Members access the various services from 7:00–7:30 pm
- Multimedia presentation in main hall from 7:10 pm
- Welcome, news, and administration from 7:30 pm, followed by question and answer forum
- General presentation or SIGs
- Formal meeting concludes about 9:45 pm
- Light supper and services available during mid meeting break too
Wednesday meetings are in the week following the main meeting, and begin at 2:00pm. They do not have a specific agenda: the format is entirely in the hands of the members present on the day. Bring along your queries or suggestions, and members will do their best to assist with your Mac challenges. The only silly question is the one that is not asked.
